It has been 7 years since the last time Edinburgh accommodated the finals of the Challenge and the Champions Cups. They will do so this year at BT Murrayfield Stadium, on May 12 and 13. However, before the 2 teams that will enter the pitch can be identified, they must pass through the steps of qualification. Here is the schedule:
- Round 1: October 13 – 16
- Round 2: October 19 – 22
- Round 3: December 10 – 13
- Round 4: December 17 – 20
- Round 5: January 12 – 15
- Round 6: January 19 – 22
- Quarter-finals: March 30 – April 2
- Semi-finals: April 21 – 23
- Finals: Challenge Cup final, May 12
- European Rugby Champions Cup final, May 13.
A total of nineteen clubs from the Aviva Premiership (England – Wales), the Guinness PRO12 League (Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Italy) and the French Top 14 will participate, along with the newcomers Timisoara Saracens from Romania, who will get involved in Pool 5 action against Edinburgh Rugby at the Dan Paltinisanu Stadium on Saturday, 15 October.
