If you are willing to bet on your favourite club, one of the popular exchange Matchbook has got something to offer:
During the course of the season, each club plays the others twice, once at their home stadium and the second one at their opponents. Teams are ranked by total points, victories and goals scored. The club with the most points is crowned champion at the end of each season. If it happens that the points are equal between two or more clubs, here are the rules:
- If this happens for more than two clubs that do not compete for the national title, then the tie is broken.
- If the tie is still not broken, the winner will be chosen by Fair Play scales: least amount of yellow cards and red cards.
- If there is a tie for the championship, for relegation or for qualification to other competitions, the Fair Play scales will not be taken into account.
If speaking about Atletico-Go, it is tough to see them making their stay a long one. Although, it is great to see them back for the first time since 2012. 27-year-old Júnior Viçosa paced the team with 10 goals in 2016 and will have to repeat that number to keep this side in matches.
Vasco da Gama have run between the first and second division since 2013 and it is thought to be a trend that will continue in 2017. They have talented players, but unfortunately for them, all of their key contributors are over the age of 30: Rodrigo, Rafael Marques, Dos Santos, Martin Silva etc.
Nothing about Coritiba inspires confidence, other than the fact that they have managed to stay in the first division for six consecutive years now, despite finishing in the top half of the table just once over that time period. The goals will mostly come via their 33-year old striker Kleber, who scored 23 goals across all competitions last year.
