The Grand National is probably the world’s most famous horse race, which takes place every year at the Aintree Racecourse near Liverpool in England.
It is also the most valuable horse race in Europe, if one takes into account that the winner of the 2016 race (“Rule the World” ridden by David Mullins and trained by Michael “Mouse” Morris) won a prize of £1 million. This was the first victory for the group and it has raised the question whether they can repeat this feat this year as well. Regardless of your own expectations you can use your Matchbook account to place your bets.
The dates for the 2017 race have been confirmed by Aintree and have been set for Thursday April 6th to Saturday April 8th. Usually, over 40 runners and riders participate in the competition in a course of over 4 miles featuring spots like Becher’s Brook and The Chair. Over 600 million people will watch the race on TV worldwide and it is one of the biggest betting events for the UK.
For this year the favorites are The last Samurai, Hollywell and Ucello Conti and you can make your life easier on sorting out your bets through our odd converter.
