The 2017 World Grand Prix will be the 20th edition of the event and it will take place at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin between the 1st and the 7th of October.
Here, 32 players will compete for the CUP. The top 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit will be joined by the 16 ProTour Order of Merit qualifiers for the World Grand Prix. It’s the final chance for players to win a spot as the top eight players will be seeded in the tournament. Due to some changes in recent years, the top non-qualified residents of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland no longer get an automatic qualification spot.
The current provisional qualification list is as follows:
|PDC Order of Merit||Pro Tour|
|Michael van Gerwen||Alan Norris|
|Gary Anderson||Rob Cross|
|Peter Wright||Joe Cullen|
|Adrian Lewis||Mervyn King|
|Dave Chisnall||Steve Beaton|
|Mensur Suljović||Cristo Reyes|
|Raymond van Barneveld||Gerwyn Price|
|Michael Smith||Kyle Anderson etc.|
Are you familiar with any of these players? If yes, do not hesitate to bet on your favorite one. You may wonder which bookmakers provide high odds for this type of sport. BET-IBC has the answer through Pinnacle/Pinbet88 and Maxbet.
Michael van Gerwen is the defending champion after defeating Gary Anderson 5-2 in last year’s final. As far as Pro Tour is concerned, Rob Cross and Christian Kist want to make their World Grand Prix debuts alongside Richard North, who leads in the current standings after his victory on Sunday’s Players Championship final in Barnsley, ahead of Jonny Clayton.
Robert Thornton, the World Grand Prix champion of 2015, is holding the 16th and final Order of Merit qualifying position, ahead of Alan Norris and Simon Whitlock.
