The current #7 in the East Brooklyn Nets will face tomorrow #3 in the East Miami Heat in Barclays Center, New York.
The Brooklyn Nets entered the season with a roster capable of getting a playoff spot in the East. They brought all star Kyrie Irving (beside Kevin Durant, out with a long term injury) to help their young core of players to get better results. Allen, LaVert, Dinwiddie and Harris stayed and beside Irving the Nets brought some interesting role players like Prince, Temple and DeAndre Jordan, to occupy the ones that left: Russel, Jefferson and Carrol, mainly. They have an overall record of 10W/9L, with 6W/3L at home, and they have been playing recently without their top player kyrie Irving, but still they have found a way to keep making some good results, like yesterday when they beat the Boston Celtics at home. Actually they only lost 2 games in their last 8, although when we look at their opponents in those wins, with the exception of the Celtics, we see the Bulls, Knicks, Kings, Hornets and Cavs, some of the worst teams in the League. Tomorrow the Nets will miss Kyrie again, as well as LaVert, and DeAndre Jordan have been dealing with an ankle injury that hasn´t allowed him to be at 100%.
The Miami Heat entered the season with some expectations that their young core of players would be able to join Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic on a run to the playoffs, but things have turned out even better than expected. They are currently 3rd in the East behind the Raptors and the Bucks, with an overall record of 13W/5L. Away they are 5W/5L, but with the exception of a blowout loss in Philadelphia, on a back to back game (after winning in previous night in Chicago), all their lost games were in the West, against top teams like the Nuggets, Lakers, Rockets and Timberwolves. From last season they lost an erratic Hassan Whiteside and Josh Richardson, and they have been playing without Justise Winslow with an injury, but not only they brought Jimmy Butler, who has been playing at a high level, but they are having amazing contributions from Adebayo, Dragic, Nunn, Herro, Robinson and Leonard, and they are right now a very solid team in offense and defense.
In conclusion, in my opinion Brooklyn has a tough task ahead to overcome Miami without some of their best players, and the Heat have been so solid that I expect them to grab another win tomorrow.
