Neptunas and Siauliai often please Lithuanian basketball fans with good quality games. Indeed, this tie is called the Western Lithuania derby as these two sides are the only representatives of this country region in the whole LKL. Siauliai were clearly the upper hand team in the first decade of the 21st century but Neptunas took the initiative later and has been the dominant derby team during the ongoing decade. This season Neptunas again are full of ambitions to climb high up the LKL ladder, while making into the Top 8 after the regular season would be a decent achievement for Siauliai, which have been complete LKL outsiders for the last few terms. As a sequel, Neptunas are labelled as big favourites of the match and it is kind of hard to argue against it, but Siauliai are a very ambitious and well-coached team with a tendency to play very well against Neptunas, so the game may not be as dull as some might think.
Neptunas is struggling offensively as the season start but they are a very bright team overall. They have three very promising talents like Sedekerskis, Jogela, and Masiulis, and some well-established LKL old hand heroes like Delininkaitis, Galdikas, or Gailius. Williamson should improve in time too after a terrible season start, while his country mate Dorsey is doing very well and has already become one of Neptunas’ offence carriers. Losing head coach Maksvytis is a big loss for the port city club, because this coach is considered as one of the best Lithuanian coaches. Former Maksvytis’ assistant and current head coach Rinkevicius does not look very convincing for now but he has room and a good environment to grow and improve. Neptunas is playing the worst defensive team in the country’s top flight in the shape of Siauliai, so their scoring numbers are expected to make a jump after this game.
Siauliai will again have to work hard to get a playoff berth. I would say the mission is possible this season but some of good luck would help the sun town team big time. Under guidance of Sireika, an offensive guru and a big advocate of offence-oriented basketball in general, Siauliai are not a lackluster team to watch. In fact they are again playing beautiful, well-balanced and smart offence, which will not be easy to handle for Neptunas. I expect Siauliai big guys Gustys, Udras, and Griciunas do the most of damage but Urbonas, Saulys, Wright, and Hardy can say their word too. The strength of Siauliai is you can never know what offensive surprises Sireika has prepared for the opposing coaches.
I expect nothing but an offensive game. These two teams have solved their clashes in high-scoring numbers in recent years, and I do not see why it could be any different this time in Klaipeda. If you want to place your bet with best odds, register for best betting software now and win big!
