The first round of the UEFA Europe Nations League for the season 2020/21 is starting this September. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the match will be most probably played without spectators, or if present, the attendance will be severely limited.
In group B, Slovakia is hosting its western neighbors on New Tehelne Pole Stadium, Bratislava on Friday evening.
Prospects for the Slovaks do not look very promising in match-up for this event – most of the Slovak nationals – if not all – are playing in foreign and international leagues. This is not surprising, however due to the current Coronavirus situation, there is already confirmed news that some of the most important Slovak players aren’t allowed to join because of the restrictions/ban of their domestic clubs. This puts Pavel Hapal, the Czech coach in Slovak services, in a curious situation where he has to find solutions really fast on key posts.
On the contrary, the Czech Republic will profit from the fact that they are unbeaten in five of the last six competitive head-to-heads at all venues. They might also profit from the weakened Slovak team due to the above-mentioned absence of some of their key players. Moreover, the Czech domestic league has better quality and with teams like Slavia Prague, Viktoria Plzen, and others, taking part every year in the Champions and Europe League respectively. It is expected, that several players from Slavia Prague will be nominated for this match, which makes the Czechs more prepared in terms of players, familiarity, and team tactics than Slovaks.
With head-to-head statistics strongly in favor of the Czech Republic, I don’t really see Slovakia snatching all three points in this ‘federal derby’, even when playing on the home turf in Bratislava.
All in all, we back the +0 Asian Handicap for the Czech Republic, which we see a valued bet. Register for the best betting software and place your winning bet.
