Card Derby Racing
The gambling industry always works towards improving its products with new and innovative games. Sometimes this process leads to unusual ideas like combining a card game with horse racing. Hence, the Card Derby Racing development. It is a concept that is rapidly gaining popularity amongst those who like to have both a sport and an online slot in one place.
Apart from the novelty of the premise, there is also another feature that’s unique. While in all casino games, punters can place bets in favor of an outcome, this one also affords the chance of placing lay bets, i.e. against an outcome. Thus, it also incorporates the characteristics of a betting exchange. To go even further, there are elements of Black Jack also involved.
Card Derby Racing Basics
While for other games there is a history to track down, for this one this is only a few years. Some claim that Betfair is the first developer, while, on other accounts, RCD Holdings Ltd holds that honor. There are also a few other claims on the issue, involving a different name: Racing Card Derby. Regardless of who came up with it first, they struck gold.
The basic idea is simple. The four suites of a 52-card deck (Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades) represent the 4 runners on a segmented race track. Usually, there are 32 segments, however, there may be more. The value of the cards determines the segments to be covered by each deal. The winner is the one that runs through all the segments first.
Gameplay and Rules
In this game those are bundled together, so, for better understanding, let’s take a step-by-step look:
Step 1
Each round of Card Derby Racing begins without any cards being dealt. Punters can either back or lay a racer. Here comes the first feature of an exchange as all bets must be matched. Any unmatched ones are immediately voided.
Of course, in order to participate, players need to have opened an account and used any of the payment options (Skrill, Neteller, Jetonbank, Cash2Code, banks) to fund it. They could also, of course, use cryptos to place their bets.
Step 2
Handicaps! This is accomplished by drawing 3 cards from each suite and placing them face up. The revelation triggers a second round of wagers. Here, bettors can adjust their bets according to the cards drawn. The handicap here actually lies in the fact that the racers cannot use these cards to advance on the track.
Step 3
From the remaining 40 cards of the deck, 3 cards are drawn one by one and turned face up. The racers represented by the suites that appeared, advance through the segments as follows:
Gameplay
- Aces advance 11 segements
- 10s, Jacks, Queens, Kings advance 10 segments
- Cards 2 to 9: advance as many segments as their face value
Step 4
Repeat step 3 until all 32 segments are covered by a racer. Based on the maximum advancement per turn, it’s a minimum of 4 turns per round (an ace, two cards valued at 10, plus one more card of any value). At the end of each turn new bets can be placed before the next one.
The display under the race track shows the cards that have been revealed for each suite, the total advancement made, the remaining segments and the bets for and against each racer.
Step 5
Collect the winnings at the end of the round and start a new one.
Step 6
Repeat Steps 1 to 5 to enjoy fully!
Since the three cards that determine the activity are drawn one by one, there is no possibility for a draw. When a card is drawn that advances the suite it shows beyond the finish line, no other cards are drawn and the round of Card Derby Racing ends.
An important issue to address here is that it is not readily available upon login. Users will need to check the schedule as there are predetermined hours where a player can join. Also, there is a fixed time frame where bets can be placed.
