Perhaps, it’s one of the sports that most people in the world know nothing, or very little, about. However, it has steadily been expanding and gaining in popularity. A few years back it would be unthinkable for it to have gained a foothold in areas and countries where other sports enjoy the lion’s share. Nevertheless, punters have been asking for it to be included in the portfolios for quite some time. Now, it is our honor to make the announcement. Aussie Rules is older than Football
Not as origins or history. Those are actually unclear. For some, it is just how the Australians modified the Gaelic Football played in Ireland to the manner it suited them. For others, it is just the official and organized form of a game that has existed in English private schools for the amusement of the students. It doesn’t matter at this point. What does matter is that it is actually older than the king of sports, football.
The first official match was held in Melbourne on Jun 15 1859 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground between the local Grammar and the Scotch College. In contrast, the first organized match of regular football was played in 1862. For the two sports, we have to thank Tom Wills and, of course, Ebenezer Cobb Morley. People with a vision for the future.
Australian Rules Football has expanded all over the world
The U.S.A., Denmark, the Netherlands, Croatia, Poland, Russia, Belgium, England, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, China, UAE, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, are just some of the countries that are either beginning to have, or have already established, clubs and tournaments of Australian Rules Football. At first glance, it is difficult to believe that it is indeed expanded to such an effect. However, this is the truth and it would follow suite that the chain of trades attached to sports, would adjust to that truth.
As always, we will be publishing the glossaries for the sport and the advice on how to place your bets on it. It’s about time that the rest of the world becomes acquainted with the sport, since those who decided to open an account at the best betting platform, will have access to it.
