The new MLS season begins and it promises more thrill and adventure. Los Angeles Galaxy defeated the New York Red Bulls in the MLS Cup Final by 2-1 and they are now holding the title of reigning champions. So, they will begin defending it at home against San Diego FC in a duel between two Californians. It will be quite exciting as there is a whole new set of unknown parameters paving the way for some exquisite profits. Usually the league begins in March, however, they scheduled it for a little earlier this year.
The others end, they are just beginning
The match will be held at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California at midnight of Feb 24. As per the usual standards, Galaxy are held as the strong favorites to win, while the visitors are given slim chances. This is amply displayed by the odds of @1.40 for the hosts and @6.83 for San Diego. The draw begets @5.30, however, it is a highly unlikely result.
The considerations must have included the fact that the visitors have only had two preparation matches which they lost, while the home team have had four, resulting in a win, 2 draws and a loss. San Diego conceded 3 goals in both those matches, while scoring only once. On the other hand, the champions scored 5 and conceded 6.
Handicaps and spreads are the options
A -1.5 handicap for LA Galaxy pays at @2.06. The equivalent +1.5 for the visitors gets a price of @1.83. There is nothing to draw from a head-to-head comparison as the two sides will confront each other for the first time. Given that it is the first match of the season, it is quite possible that there will be no more than 2 or 3 goals scored and that pays at @2.21 which is the best offer.
While there’s still a week to go before our final recommendation, this will probably be the way that we will go, considering that there are no in-between matches to draw conclusions from. The only parameter that can change things around, are possible injuries during the training sessions.
Update
Very little things have changed during the seven days that have passed since we started the discussion. However, it would seem that something must have come to the attention of the bookmakers as there have been a slight modification in the preliminary odds. And that something must probably the weather prediction as it will be slightly worse than expected.
Now LA Galaxy are paid at @1.48 if they win, instead of @1.40, while San Diego are at @6.68 over 6.83. The evaluation teams seem to think that the players of the visitors are better equipped to handle adverse weather, hence, the slight tilt of the balance to their favor. Strangely thought, the odds for the Asian Handicaps remain the same, as does our initial thought, that the best price for this one is the @2.21 that says that there will be 2 or 3 goals scored in total.
And this will be our final recommendation. We do not feel that either side is in a shape of scoring more than once or twice. We have done our part on this one and now it’s time for you to do yours. Go open an account at the best betting platform right now and pocket some money out of this one.
