Hello again folks! It’s me, uncle Realtu back again with another great tip for the Asian leagues! You know me, and you know I prefer to stick to Asian in my picks as much as possible. Especially the Japanese leagues. However, Korea is also one of my old stomping grounds. And that is exactly where we are going this week to watch a match (hey! I just noticed this rimes!) between Cheongju FC and the Jeonnam Dragons.
They will face each other on Saturday 02/03/2024, and we will keep a close eye on their next matches before then. Next week, we will be back with a nice update, but for today, let’s talk about our teams and stats.
The Teams
First, let’s talk about our home team. Chungbuk Cheongju FC, formerly known as Cheongju FC, is a South Korean football club based in Cheongju,. Founded in 2002, the club competes in the K League 2, the second tier of South Korean football. Previously known as Cheongju Solveig Football Club, it joined the K3 League in 2009 and merged with Cheongju City FC in 2019. In 2022, the club announced its intention to join the professional K League 2 in 2023, rebranding as Chungbuk Cheongju FC. Actually, these guys change names a lot now that I think about it.
On the other side of the field we have the Dragons. The Chunnam Dragons, founded in 1994, achieved their best finish in 1997 as K League runners-up. They won their first trophy in the 1997 Korean FA Cup, beating Chunan Ilhwa Chunma. In 1999, they finished as runners-up of the Asian Cup Winners’ Cup, beating J-League giants Kashima Antlers and Al Ittihad. In 2006 and 2007, they won two consecutive Korean FA Cup titles, defeating Suwon Samsung Bluewings and Pohang Steelers. In 2007, Park Hang-seo became the new manager after Huh Jung-moo went to the South Korean national team.
The stats
Now let’s get into the dirty! The league is just starting, which is why we need to pay double attention to both team’s next matches. But there is still some things we can look at to get an idea of where we are standing.
For example, Cheongju finished last year’s league in 8th place, while the dragons finished in 7th. In addition, the teams faced each other 3 times last year, and the Dragons won two of these matches. Finally, their last match ended with a 3-0 victory for the Dragons.
Update
Hello again everyone! Uncle Realtu is back again with an update for this juicy match! Now, first of all, lets see how things are going with both our sides shall we?
Well, not much happened if we are being honest, seeing as there were no games yet, but that’s no excuse not to make a pick here! So, let’s look elsewhere to see what can be a good chice for this match.
One thing I found particularly interesting here are the total goals scored in previous matches for both sides. The Dragons, for example, are going on 6 matches with more than 2.5 goals. The Cheongju FC on the other hand is going on 6 matches scoring “less” than 2.5 goals. But here is the key, all last 3 encounters between these teams ended with 3 goals or more.
So, based on that and the odds offered, my pick here will be Over 2.5 full time. And if you also want to make the most out of this pick, make sure to open an account at the best betting platform and secure your place among the winners!
