Hello everyone! Another week, another tip. And this time we will go to beautiful Scotland to watch a match for their second division. On March 2, Dumbarton will face Peterhead in a match we hope will bring us a lot of opportunity! But first of all, we need to know what we are dealing with, so let’s take a step back and get to know our sides and their recent stats.
The Teams
Dumbarton Football Club will be our home team. Founded in 1872, Dumbarton F.C. is one of Scotland’s oldest football clubs. The club played home games at the Dumbarton Football Stadium, next to Dumbarton Castle. The club was a successful 19th-century club, winning the Scottish Football League in its first two seasons. However, it ceased playing in 1901 and returned to action in 1905. Since then, the club has spent most of its history outside the top flight, with their last appearance in 1984–85 and currently playing in Scottish League Two. The club was the first team to win at least one league title in each of the top four tiers of the Scottish football league system. In May 2021, Dumbarton was announced to change ownership, with previous owners Brabco selling their majority share to Cognitive Capital.
On the other side of the field, we have Peterhead F.C. Founded in 1891, the team was a Highland League club that gained league status in 2000. Elgin City joined them in the Third Division of the Highland League. Jim McInally was appointed in 2011, following John Sheran’s sacking. In 2013, Peterhead hosted Rangers, which was watched by 4,855 spectators. In 2014, Peterhead won the Scottish League Two title, beating Clyde 2–0. In 2015, they reached their first cup final since leaving the Highland League, beating Queen’s Park to reach the Scottish Challenge Cup final. Their home ground is Balmoor, with a capacity of 3,150. Peterhead’s traditional rivals are Fraserburgh, but they now have a new rivalry with Elgin City. The club’s home ground is Balmoor, with around 1,000 seats.
The Stats
Let’s start with the home team. Dumbarton is now 4th in the league, right behind the Spartans. They have 36 points in 24 games, 10 wins, 6 draws, and 8 losses. In addition, they have scored 37 goals, suffered 29 so far, and only had one win in their last eight matches in the league. The visitors, on the other hand, are in second place, behind the leader, Stenhousemuir. They have 42 points in 25 games, 12 wins, 6 draws, 7 losses, 41 goals scored, and 28 suffered. In addition, they have won only two of their last eight matches in this league.
Update
Alright everyone, things are heating up in Scotland! This means we must check out ow things are going and make a decision for this pick. And to do that, as always, the first thing we need to do is take a look at how our sides are doing.
Our home team is still in 4th place, and their last match on the 24th ended with a 2-1 victory over 9th placed Stranraer. The visitors are also still in 2nd place, and their last match ended in an 1-1 drawn against 8th placed Elgin City.
Overall, looking at this as well as some stats from the head to head between both teams, I believe an over 1.5 or Over 2 FT bet is a good choice. Curiously, I found good odds for an Over 1 HT bet, but not sure how long that is gonna last. So you better hurry up andopen an account at the best betting platformto make the most out of it. As a side note, a both to score bet has good odds as well and can be a good alternative if the Over/Under market falls below your tastes.
