Let’s venture back into the world of the MLS since all other championships are coming to an end. As per the usual practice of the Americans to mix up the matches between the Eastern and the Western Conference, we have one match to show that promises enough excitement to go around, while there are decent profits to be made by a multitude of markets.
The venue will be the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the date is May 25 and the kick-off time is 23:30 GMT. The hosts Atlanta United take on the visitors Los Angeles FC. It’s confrontation of two rather equal sides.
Atlanta United vs Los Angeles this season
Let’s begin with the visitors. After 13 rounds they occupy position 5 in the Western Conference and 6 overall with a record of 6 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses. Goals are 24 in favor, 19 against. On the other hand, the hosts are as far down as 10th in the Eastern Conference and 23 overall. 16-15 the goals, 3-3-6 the outcomes after 12 matches. 4 losses and 1 draw for Atlanta in the last 5, 3 wins, one tie, one defeat for Los Angeles. For all intents and purpose those numbers say that it will be an easy one for the visitors.
However, this is not what the odds show. @3.059 for Galaxy, @3.334 for United, 3.720 for the draw. @2.990 for a win for the home side with over 2.5 goals in total. The price that holds the best interest (will probably drop in the next few days) is the @4.750 for a victory to the visitors with over 2.5 goals. It really makes no sense with the records of the two sides.
It all probably depends on the in-betweens
In all likelihood all the prices that we have now, will change after the confrontations that await both sides before they meet each other. In fact, both have away matches to play at Nashville and Charlotte respectively. The first are more or less in the same position as Atlanta, while the second are just about similar to Los Angeles. Arguably, it’s a kind of a dress rehearsal before the encounter of the two clubs in question.
Interestingly, since their first meeting back in 2018 (Atlanta won 5-0), both encounters at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium ended up in wins for the hosts. Los Angeles have only won once at their home turf by 4-3, while the last time the two met, it was a 0-0 draw. These numbers do not offer any valuable insights, except that Atlanta tends to win at home.
Update
Things have changed drastically in the past 7 days. Atlanta played their 13th match of the season away at Charleston with the outcome being a 1-1 draw. On the other hand, Los Angeles played against Loudoun United FC for the US Open Cup, where they came out victorious by 3-0. Perhaps it was those results that dropped the odds quite a lot.
Now, the win for the hosts is offered at @2.530 (instead of @3.334), while the visitors, if they win, they will reward wagers in their favor with @2.620 (instead of @3.059). A draw goes for @3.926. It is also unfortunate that the market for a win for Atlanta with over 2.5 goals was also changed to a 3.5 limit. The offer of @2.050 for an Asian over 3.25 just doesn’t sound as plausible. Somehow, the previous slight advantage in favor of the visitors changed and the bookies seem to think that it will be Atlanta to come out with the win.
Given that the next match for the home team is against leaders Inter Miami (which, in all likelihood will end in a defeat), it’s a «do or die» situation. Simply, they have to win if they want to cut down the deficit to their opponents. So, we will go with the stronger motive here and recommend a simple bet in favor of Atlanta United.
All the prices for this one make for quite satisfactory returns. Therefore, you have another good reason to open an account at the best betting platform and make some good money.
