Euro 2024 Prediction
The euro 2024 is getting close to its end so we must stay tuned and dive into this thing head-on to try and make the most of it! For this prediction: On July 5, 2024, at 19:00 UTC, Portugal and France are set to compete at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, Germany. This matchup promises to deliver an exciting spectacle, with both teams showcasing their top talents in a bid for victory. The atmosphere in the stadium is sure to be electric as supporters cheer on their respective teams. Now, let’s check how our teams did in the round of 16 before we make our pick:
Round of 16 – Portugal and France
Starting with Portugal, they are going on 3 wins and one loss. They started very well with one 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic followed by another win, this time 0-3 against Turkey. Then came a surprising 2-0 loss against Georgia, and finally, a 3-0 victory against Slovenia at the start of this month. Not a bad performance at all.
Then, on the other side of the field we have France. They are still undefeated, but if we take a look at their performance this is what we see: They started well with a 0-1 over Austria, but after that came two draws, 0-0 against the Netherlands, and 1-1 against Poland. Finally, they had a 1-0 victory over Belgium on the 1st of July.
The Pick
This is a hard one for sure, but if we take a look at both team’s performances in their past games, things get clearer. Portugal will be France’s greatest challenge so far, and to be honest the French have not impressed much in the Euro this year. Portugal could do better, but at least they showed some sparks of brilliance. I believe it will be a long match, but ultimately Portugal will win in overtime. Plus the odds are quite good.
