For my next prediction for this week, I will take you guys to the Egyptian Premier League, where we will be exploring an interesting matchup at the middle of the table between the National Bank of Egypt and ZED FC. Two teams with similar situations and struggles and in great need of points. National Bank of Egypt will be the host and the match will be played on Saturday the 8th at 6 PM GMT.
After 10 matchdays, the League is still very open, as just 7 points separate the team at the 1st spot (Pyramids) from the 8th spot (National Bank). Let’s look at how our opponents for this prediction have been fairing in the domestic league and cup.
National Bank – Good Momentum Halted
The National Bank of Egypt was on an impressive unbeaten streak that lasted 4 games. That was until they were beaten at home by Petrojet 0-2 in the League. This victory came as a hard pill to swallow for coach Tarek Mostafa, but not a great surprise for professional sports analysts who saw this coming. In fact, despite their 6th position on the table, Petrojet is one of the teams that are very hard to beat currently, both home and away.
National Bank of Egypt is currently 7th, with 14 points, and their opponent is the relegation-endangered ENPPI (16th). Tarek Mostafa needs to win this match absolutely to relieve pressure and keep their hopes of a possible qualification for next year’s CAF Champions League alive. The stakes are quite high!
As earlier mentioned, they went 4 games unbeaten before the defeat to Petroject, and below are the results of those encounters.

The National Bank of Egypt has been greatly criticized for not scoring too many goals, but luckily, they do not depend on a single player for their goals. This is crucial because in case one goal scorer gets injured, other players can do the job. Osama Faisal and Yaw Annor lead the top scorer’s chart for the team with 3 realizations each, while Mohamed Helal equally netted 2 to help the team in the pursuit of its objectives.
ZED FC – From Bad to Worst
Just like their opponent, ZED is having a very decent season, but things got worse recently with the shock defeat they recorded at home to Smouha 1-2. This defeat now means they are winless in 3 matches all competition included and sit at the 8th spot, level on points with Al Ittihad. The more disturbing issue is the fact that they scored just 1 goal in those 3 encounters.

Before the away trip to the National Bank’s turn, ZED FC will host Al Masry, 5th on the table, and will need to play good football to hope for a point in that encounter.
Head-to-Head Record
In recent periods, they’ve faced off twice and the National Bank of Egypt didn’t lose any of the matches, winning one and drawing one.

National Bank vs ZED FC Prediction
The stakes are just too high for both teams and while the National Bank of Egypt FC is at home and has better H2H stats, they score very few goals and have shown severe weaknesses at the defense line as seen in the home defeat recorded against Petrojet on matchday 10.
To bring to you guys the most informed prediction, let’s wait and see how both teams will perform in their respective matchday 11 fixtures.
Update
There was lots of movement on the rankings of the Egyptian Premier League last week; with some teams moving up and others going down.
The National Bank of Egypt recorded a precious away win against ENPPI at the Petrosport Stadium, al-Qāhirah, Cairo. The lone goal in the encounter was scored by Osama Faisal at the 56th minute of play. Hesham Salah provided the assist. With this win, National Bank is just 7 points away from league leaders Pyramids. Tarek Mustafa will certainly want to capitalize on this win by lining up the same team at home against ZED this weekend.
On the other hand, ZED drew at home against Al Masry to put an end to their 3-game loosing streak. The visitors opened the score through Karim Bambo at the 43th minute of play. Abdelrahman El Banouby netted an equalizer at the 55th, to the relief of coach Magdy Abdel Aaty already under pressure following the bad run of his team.
The National Bank of Egypt comes to this encounter as the clear favorite, that’s why I’m backing them to win. The bookie odds are around 2.36 and you can benefit from such high odds on the Egyptian Premier League games by registering on the best betting platform today. Good luck!
