We keep going with the free betting predictions! This time, I’m eying the J1 League clash between Kashiwa Reysol and Tokyo Verdy 1969 that will count for the 7th round of the League. The venue for this fixture will be Sankyo Frontier Kashiwa Stadium, the turf of Kashiwa Reysol, the current 4th of the table. Let’s review both teams and find an appropriate betting opportunity.
Kashiwa Reysol – A Team in Decline
Kashiwa Reysol is winless in their last two league games. They lost 1-3 at home against league leaders Kashiwa Antlers on the 08th March then drew 1-1 away against third-placed Sanfrecce Hiroshima. In both matches, they scored just a goal.
Globally speaking, all J1 League teams have been scoring fewer goals this season and Kashiwa Reysol isn’t left out. With 8 goals scored and 6 conceded, they can be considered lucky to be standing in the 4th spot at this moment.
Scoring has not been an issue for Kashiwa Reysol; however, the defensive lapses have cost them critical points in the league so far. Luckily, they are just 2 points behind the league leaders Kashiwa Antlers.
Yuki Kakita is the leading scorer with 2 goals. Yoshio Koizumi, Tomoya Koyamatsu, Mao Hosoya, Diego, and Kosuke Kinoshita have all scored 1 goal each. The fact that goals can come from any player is something that makes it hard for adverse coaches to anticipate or plan against. Yoshion Koizumi and Kosuke Kinoshita are the lead assist providers with 2 each. Tojiro Kubo, Tomoya Koyamatsu and Yuki Kakita all have an assist each.
Against weaker teams, Kashiwa’s attack often finds the net easily and I expect that to be the case against Tokyo Verdy. Before facing Tokyo Verdy, they face Azul Claro Numazu in the J-League Cup on the 20th of March.
Tokyo Verdy 1969 – Moving Towards Redemption
Tokyo Verdy’s season hasn’t been great so far, to say the least. In 6 matches played so far, they won 2, drew 1 and lost 3. They are currently 14th, with 7 points, just 2 more than the first relegation-threatened team. A 2-1 home win against bottom-placed Nagoya Grampus on the 15th of March proved vital in their attempt to avoid getting into relegation talks early in the season.
Yuto Tsunashima has been the top contributor for Tokyo Verdy this season with 2 goals, Kosuke Saito, Yudai Kimura, and Hiroto Yamami all scored a goal each as well. Itsuki Someno has been the top contributor in terms of assists, with 2, while Kosuke Saito, Yuta Arai, and Hiroto Yamami all have one assist each. Just as with Kashiwa, the threat can come from any side when facing Tokyo Verdy.
Head-to-Head Stat
They’ve faced each other 14 times, between 2003 and till date, Kashiwa Reysol won 5, Tokyo Verdy won 8, and just 1 ended in a draw. In the last two meetings, Tokyo Verdy won 3-2 away and drew 1-1 on the other occasion.
My Prediction
Kashiwa Reysol might be better placed on the league table and also playing at home, but Tokyo Verdy has historically proven to be a very tough opponent for them. Plus, their last win gave them much confidence. For now, I’m being a little cautious and considering the 1X2 market and the goals market, but I want to see how both teams will perform in their respective J-League Cup matches.
Update
The countdown to the Kashiwa Reysol vs. Tokyo Verdy fixture has begun, and fans of both sides have high expectations. The 15,900-capacity Sankyo Frontier Kashiwa Stadium will be a place to be for anyone who wants to enjoy this matchday 7 action.
Kashiwa Reysol earned a victory away to Azul Claro Numazu in the 1st round of the J-League Cup. H. Nakama scored the goal in the 8th minute from an assist by Hosoya. Analysts argue they could have done much better in this easy fixture against a J3 League team battling with form. But, that’s not something coach Ricardo Rodriguez would be bothered about. On the other hand, Tokyo Verdy 1969 had a harder time in their J-League Cup fixture away against J3 League side Nagano Parceiro. The match ended 0-0, but they managed to go through on penalties.
When we consider the head-to-head stats, Tokyo Verdy has the upper hand, and they haven’t lost against Kashiwa Reysol the last 2 times they faced each. For this fixture I anticipate it to be a tight call and very few clear-cut chances from both sides.
