Summary of Tipster's comments

The second to last from the Old Albion championship begins tomorrow. The reigning Welsh champions New Saints FC will begin a new campaign to retain that title. However, we will be discussing about another match that picked our interest. We will travel to Barry Town, the Jenner Park Stadium and August 16, where, at 11:30 GMT, the local United will host Colwyn Bay.

Hoping for a better season

Barry Town ended the 24/25 regular season at 7th with 30 points, a record of 8 wins, 6 draws and 8 losses, 32 goals scored and 38 conceded, and the top spot of the relegation group. After spending a year away from the Premiership, Colwyn return and hope that they can manage to avoid another relegation.

For the home side there have been some good results so far. A win against Aberystwyth for the Welsh League Cup by 2-1 and 2 wins 2 draws and a loss during the preparatory phase. For Colwyn the results were not so satisfactory. Loss to Caernarfon by a humiliating 3-0 for the League Cup, and 2 victories, 2 ties and 2 losses during the summer. The quite disheartening aspect are the 12 goals that they conceded while scoring just 11. Not what we would call an «auspicious» sign of things to come.

No matter what… the odds are good

The season for the two begins with Barry Town going on a trip to newcomers Llanelli AFC for a confrontation full of unknowns. For Colwyn Bay the start of the season is at home against Connah’s Quay Nomads, a team that finished at the 8th spot of the table last year. Both, quite interesting confrontations that may set the pace for what is to come for the second round.

While it’s still too early for judgements or even considerations, what we see are the offers of @4.10 for Colwyn Bay and @3.00 for Barry. They are just too lucrative to pass. All we have to do is pay attention to what will happen during the first round and make a careful assessment before our final proposal for a wager to those that will open an account at the best betting platform.

Update

Barry Town got off on the right leg defeating Llanelli 0-2 away. The same could not be said for Colwyn Bay as their home match against the Nomads ended in a 1-1 draw. As a matter of fact, 3 out of the 6 matches of the first round ended in draws, all with a score of either 1-1 or 2-2. It is a quite clear indication that the teams were rather cautious and tried to avoid a major upset right from the off.

A chance to break away

With a 2nd win, the Linnets will get to 6 points and remain at the top of the board, even if Briton Ferry and Penybont win their confrontations. On the other hand, the Seagulls cannot afford to either lose or even have a 2nd draw as any such outcome would place them very low on the board. It could even be below the relegation zone. While it is still too early, it would put them under pressure from the beginning of the championship.

Looking at the markets we see a clear preference for Barry Town at @1.62 with the visitors receiving @5.05. The most interesting market is the one that says that if more than 2.75 goals are scored then the payout is at @1.91. Seeing that the hosts scored 2 on an away game and that the visitors could not keep a clean sheet at home, it’s easy to deduce that a score of 2-1 may be quite possible. So, this is what we will suggest to those that make the decision to open an account at the best betting platform .
